Trash Service

NEW TRASH SERVICE STARTING JANUARY 6, 2025

We’re excited to announce a new trash service starting January 6, 2025! At the Annual Fall Meeting, residents voted to accept the bid from Waste Management. Please review these important details to ensure a smooth transition:

  • Trash Cart Delivery: Each household will receive one 96-gallon trash cart, provided by Waste Management. These carts will be delivered between January 2 and January 4.
  • First Collection Day: Monday, January 6, 2025.
  • Automated Service: Carts will be emptied by a robotic arm. All trash must fit inside the cart with the lid closed.
  • Placement Guidelines: Place the cart within 3 feet of the street, with 3 feet of clearance on all sides. Improperly placed carts will not be collected.
  • Timing: Carts must be set out by 6:00 AM on collection day (Mondays).
  • Mandatory Use of Trash Cart: Only Waste Management-provided carts may be used.
  • Trash Preparation: Bag all trash or flatten boxes before placing them in the cart. Loose trash is not permitted.
  • Prohibited Items: Lawn waste, hazardous materials, and any items outside the cart will not be collected.
  • Need More Capacity? Residents requiring additional capacity can rent an extra 96-gallon cart for $10 per month, invoiced individually from WM and billed quarterly.

Thank you for your cooperation as we make this transition to a new and improved service!

Please note that yard waste pickup is not provided to us by CountyWide at this time.
For this service, we recommend:
Compost Connection, who offer rates starting from $125 per year for 2 bags a week, $150 for 5 bags a week, or $200 for 10 bags a week. They pick up in our area on Friday. They also offer single pick-up rates. Contact Compost Connection at 816-761-8300 or visit www.compostconnection.com.

As always, if you have any questions feel free to contact your zone director for more information. If you are unaware of who that is, look at the "Zone Director" tab on the menu of this site.  Locate your address on the map and it will show you what zone you are in and how to contact your director.

Thank you
